Everyone Needs "A Guy" For The Job

A friend needs their Air Conditioning fixed, you’ve "got a guy” and pass along the name of someone you personally recommend. It’s the same thing with Automotive work, everyone needs “a guy” they can count on.

So

Who do you call for Routine Maintenance or Repairs on your Diesel Truck?

Do you have a Foreign Import (BMW, Audi, etc) and not have a Dependable, Trustworthy, and Honest Mechanic?

Are you always stuck taking your Car to the dealer because nobody can work on the type of Vehicle you drive?

Or do you drive a common Vehicle that doesn’t require you to have a “special Mechanic”?

Here at Post Motorworks, we aren’t a typical Mechanic Shop. You walk into our lobby and you’re met with a clean space and that’s only the beginning. We are working to change the standard of the whole Automotive industry. We want your experience with us to feel different than other Repair Shops. Holding ourselves to a higher standard and taking care of you as the customer is priority.

We understand your Vehicle is important to you no matter if you’re a stay-at-home parent or the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Everyone gets the same respect and we treat your Vehicle with the utmost care.

We look for the root cause of the issue you are experiencing, Diagnose the problem, and make the Repair. Our techs aren’t paid on commission like most shops, so they aren’t trying to change unnecessary parts to make extra money. We want to Repair what is actually wrong and Maintain your Vehicle for longevity.

A lot of our customers drive out of their way to have us Repair their Vehicles. They Trust us to do the job and not waste their time and/or money on things that don’t need to be worked on.

Our Repair Shop is in a great central location in Sunset Hills, MO. We are right over the river from Fenton, and only a few minutes from Sappington, Arnold, and Kirkwood. We have customers who drive 45 minutes one way because they know we care and will only come here. We can’t wait for you to join our family so we can keep you on the road safely and reliably.

Is your Vehicle's Air Conditioner keeping you cool while driving?

Is your Vehicle's Air Conditioner keeping you cool while driving? Or is it blowing hot air and leaving you miserable?

The Air Conditioner working while you're in the Vehicle is not only a comfort issue, it can become a safety issue as well. Temperatures inside a vehicle rise and become dangerous for occupants in a short period.
Does your Vehicle have the newer R1234YF Refrigerant or the older R134a? Not using the correct refrigerant could damage your AC system. Few shops have the equipment and knowledge to handle R1234YF. Buying the small cans and filling the refrigerant yourself like in the past isn't the best option. The pressure in the aluminum lines becomes dangerous if they get overfilled. The lines can blow and send aluminum shrapnel at your feet if not filled to the correct pressure. We have invested in the proper machines and knowledge to take care of our customers no matter the year of the Vehicle.

If your Air Conditioner isn't up to par there are a few common culprits that could be keeping it from working well:

1. Low/leaking Freon
2. Leaking or obstructed Condenser
3. Bad Compressor

4. Faulty Cooling Fans
5. Dirty Filters

We can Diagnose and Repair the Air Conditioning in your Car, Truck, Van, SUV, or RV. You don't have to be miserable while sitting at stoplights anymore!

Where Is The Cheapest Gas Near Me?

What is everyone talking about lately? Gas prices increasing.

"Where is The Cheapest Gas Near Me?" Let us help to try and ease that burden.

Increasing Fuel Economy is something we should all strive to do. Getting more Miles Per Gallon means you'll spend less on Gasoline or Diesel fuel itself and also helps your Car, Truck, Van, or SUV last longer by keeping it Maintained and Repaired. As Fuel Prices increase, there are things you can do while driving as well as things your Trusted Mechanic can do to increase your Fuel Efficiency.

Here are things we can look at and Maintain to make sure you get the Best Fuel Economy possible:
*Proper Tire inflation
*Good Alignment
*Regular Oil Changes
*Replace Air Filters
*Check Brakes for drag
*Check Spark Plugs
*Check Oxygen Sensors

There are also a few things you can do while driving your Vehicle to help with Fuel Economy.

*Use cruise control when appropriate. Accelerating and braking fast in stop-and-go traffic decreases Fuel Efficiency. Using cruise control on uphill climbs can actually increase fuel CONSUMPTION but it is an effective tool on level roads.

*Reduce idling. When your Vehicle is not moving you are getting 0 miles to the gallon.

What Should I Do If My TPMS Light Comes On?

You're driving along and hear a beep then a light pops on your dash saying "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault."

What Should I Do If My TPMS Light Comes On?

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) message means there is a problem. Your tires are likely underinflated, overinflated, or there is a fault with one of the pressure sensors. The sensors are inside the Tires and have batteries in them. The batteries can run out of power and then the sensor needs to be replaced. The monitors have to be reset and programmed to the Control Module anytime the wheels and /or tires are changed.

When the temperature plunges, the air in your tires takes up less volume and may cause low pressure. Inflation pressure in tires generally drops 1-2 psi for every 10 degrees the temperature lowers. When you drive, the tires warm up and increase one psi during each 5-minute interval in the first 15-20 minutes you drive. Check the pressure when tires are cool.

Keeping up with your Car/Truck Maintenance and Repair can keep issues from arising.

Why Is My Truck's Heater Blowing Cold Air?

Colder temperatures are here to stay for the next few months. When your Truck's heater is blowing cold air and not warming up there are a few different things that could be causing the issue:

If your Truck is low on coolant, it won't be able to send any to the Heater Core to create warm air.

Seeing fog inside of the Truck, smelling a sweet odor, using coolant quickly, and the engine overheating are indicators that the Heater Core itself isn't working properly.

The Thermostat gauge not moving from "C" after the engine has had time to warm up indicates that the Thermostat may need to be replaced.

A leaking hose, radiator, or water pump will prohibit the heater from working properly.

Keeping up with your Truck Maintenance/Repair, having Fluids Topped-Off, and paying attention to your gauges can keep you moving and warm.

Tires

Tires are a very important part of Vehicle Maintenance. Check your Tire's sidewalls as well as the treads. Cuts, cracks, and bubbles indicate it's time to replace the Tire no matter how long you have driven on them. Look for uneven wear on the treads and check the depth of the tread. Pay attention to see if you feel any excessive vibration while driving. Vibrations coming from your Vehicle can be due to issues such as worn Suspension parts, Tires, or needing an Alignment.

Tire manufacturers recommend inspecting, if not replacing, your Tires at about six years. Replace your Tires every ten years regardless of the number of miles driven. This is due to the deterioration of the rubber as it ages. Whether you have a Car, Truck, or SUV, intact and properly inflated Tires help to keep you and everyone around you on the road safer.
