You're driving along and hear a beep then a light pops on your dash saying "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault."
What Should I Do If My TPMS Light Comes On?
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) message means there is a problem. Your tires are likely underinflated, overinflated, or there is a fault with one of the pressure sensors. The sensors are inside the Tires and have batteries in them. The batteries can run out of power and then the sensor needs to be replaced. The monitors have to be reset and programmed to the Control Module anytime the wheels and /or tires are changed.
When the temperature plunges, the air in your tires takes up less volume and may cause low pressure. Inflation pressure in tires generally drops 1-2 psi for every 10 degrees the temperature lowers. When you drive, the tires warm up and increase one psi during each 5-minute interval in the first 15-20 minutes you drive. Check the pressure when tires are cool.
Keeping up with your Car/Truck Maintenance and Repair can keep issues from arising.
